About Us


Newmarket is part of Rockingham County, located in the southeast corner of New Hampshire. We are a department of 2 full time personnel, that cover Monday thru Friday from 07:00 to 16:00, along with approximately 45 volunteer members (manning two engines, a pumper/tanker, a forestry unit, a utility, and two ambulances) protecting a population of about 9000 residents in a 12.5 square mile area.  
 
We provide fire protection for the town of Newmarket and EMS services for the town's of Newmarket and Newfields.

Some of our rescue equipment includes 4 ice/ cold water rescue suits, a Bullard and Scott thermal imaging cameras, Holmatro extrication equipment, and 2 full range gas meters. Engine 1 is equipped with BLS medical supplies, oxygen, collars, and to facilitate patient care if necessary prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

Our EMS service is backed up by Exeter ALS Paramedics out of Exeter Hospital.

Newmarket Fire & Rescue responded to 960 calls in 2007, 1020 calls in 2006, and, 836 in 2005.

If you have the desire to serve your community and the time and dedication it takes to be a volunteer Firefighter or EMT, we are always looking for new members. We will provide all the training you need to become state certified, whether you want to be a Firefighter, an EMT, or both. We also provide you with the equipment and resources you need to succeed in your new position.
